Currently, Roberto Sifón-Arévalo manages a team of analysts based in New York, Mexico City, and Buenos Aires that follows sovereign and international public finance ratings in Latin America and the Caribbean. Roberto joined the Latin American team in 2003 and has since monitored credit ratings on sovereigns, regional and local governments. He has also been responsible for the credit ratings of several multilateral and development financial institutions throughout the region. Roberto’s prior work experience includes eight years in various analytical positions at Banco Santander Central Hispano and Banco Sudameris in Argentina. Roberto holds a degree in business administration from the Universidad de Belgrano (Buenos Aires, Argentina) and a Master’s in International Affairs specializing in International Economic Policy from Columbia University.
Dr. Luis Oganes

Emerging Markets Research
Luis Oganes is the Global Head of Emerging Markets Research at J.P. Morgan, which he joined in 1997 in New York. Luis relocated to London in 2014 and from there he manages the teams of economists and strategists in charge of analyzing economic and political dynamics and of identifying investment opportunities in sovereign debt, currencies and local bond markets in Emerging Asia; Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa; and Latin America. Luis also drives the EM flagship publications.
His previous professional engagements include teaching at the Department of Economics of New York University (1993-1997), researcher at the Operations Evaluation Department of the World Bank (1994), and economic analyst at Grupo Apoyo, an economic think-tank in Lima, Peru (1989-1992). Luis obtained his Ph.D. in Economics from New York University in 1998 and his B.A. in Economics from Universidad de Lima in 1990.
